Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating
DUPR RATING SYSTEM
At Lucky Shots Pickleball Club, we use the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) system to provide players with an accurate, data-driven assessment of their skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, understanding how DUPR works can help you track your progress and compete at the right level.

Open Plays by DUPR Rating
Our open play sessions are categorized by DUPR rating so players can compete against others of similar skill levels.

Self-Rating Guide
Players without an official DUPR rating self-rate by trying out an open play level. If they consistently win, they move up; if they consistently lose, they move down until they find the right competitive fit.

DUPR Match Sessions
We offer dedicated DUPR match sessions where players with official DUPR accounts can compete against DUPR-rated players to establish or improve their official rating.

Officially Rated Play
These sessions are structured opportunities for players to play against rated opponents of the same skill level. There is no self-rating allowed in these matches, and they are not entered into DUPR.
How to Get an Official DUPR Rating
Getting a DUPR rating is easy and completely free:
- Sign Up For DUPR: Go to https://www.dupr.com/ to create an account
- Register for a DUPR Match Session at Lucky Shots: DUPR Match sessions are the best way to establish your DUPR rating by playing against other DUPR-rated players.
Factors That Influence Your DUPR Rating
Several key factors determine how your DUPR rating evolves:
- Match Outcome: Winning increases your rating, and losing can decrease it.
- Margin of Victory: Winning by a larger margin results in a more significant rating boost.
- Opponent’s Rating: Defeating a higher-rated opponent has a greater positive impact on your rating than beating a lower-rated player.
- Match Type:
- Self-posted recreational play has the least influence.
- Club matches and league play have a moderate impact.
- Director-uploaded tournament results hold the most weight in rating adjustments.
- Match Count and Recency: More recent matches affect your rating more than older ones, ensuring your rating reflects current performance.
